What to Expect
Meet with your guide before sunrise at one of our convenient meeting locations. Early morning is when wolves are most active, and being in position at first light dramatically increases your chances of a sighting.
Throughout the day, your guide will use a combination of visual scanning, spotting scopes, and networking reports to locate wolf packs and other wildlife. You'll have access to professional-grade optics that transform distant sightings into intimate, memorable encounters that do not disturb the animals you are watching.
Beyond wolves, your guide will help you find grizzly bears, black bears, bison, elk, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, coyotes, and raptors — all while sharing the fascinating ecological story of Yellowstone's rewilding.
The tour lasts 6-7 hours on average, and can run a little longer. At the end, your guide will transfer any images or videos of your sightings captured using our special equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a wolf sighting guaranteed?
While no wildlife sighting can ever be 100% guaranteed, our guides' daily presence in the park and live tracker network gives you a dramatically higher chance than searching on your own. The majority of our guests see wolves.
What should I bring?
Dress in warm layers (even in summer, early mornings are cold). Bring water, snacks, and a camera. We provide all optics and recording equipment.
What is the best time of year to visit?
October through May offers the best wolf-watching conditions — wolves are more active, pack dynamics are visible, and snow makes tracking easier. Summer tours are also excellent for broader wildlife viewing.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for peak season (October–December and March–May). Popular dates fill up quickly.
